SOFTWARE
Strengths: This website is really neat. It can be added as an app on the iPhone which I think is a good thing! Also, it provides a daily wordsearch, daily sudoku, and daily quiz that students could access daily and get extra practice. The website is pretty easy to navigate around, and it also very colorful and looks like fun. The games are educational which makes it fun for the students to learn by playing games.

Weaknesses: One weakness of the website is that it doesn't offer games in science or social studies. Also, some of the games you can only play one time and once the game is over you cannot play it again. There isn't another or different game to help learn the same concept. The overall weakness that I have with this website is the fact that there are not but two subjects covered, and that there are not a lot of games (but it may be different if you pay for it).

Topic: Dental
Standard: The student will distinguish between primary and permanent teeth.

Instructions: There is a young six year old patient who is coming to the dentist for the first time. As the dentist, it is your job to explain to the patient the difference between the primary and permanent teeth. You want to make sure the patient knows the difference when he leaves your office.

The patient is of age to where he needs to know the difference between primary and permanent teeth. How will you explain to the patient the difference between the two? Will you give the patient any visuals to help understand? Be sure to be creative when explaining the difference between the primary and permanent teeth.

Objectives:
The learner will add and subtract numbers less than 100.
The learner will identify a number then find one more than, one less than, ten more than, and ten less than that number.

Activities:
The teacher will begin the lesson by telling the students they are going to learn how to add and subtract numbers less than 100 and identify numbers more than and less than. The teacher will give a real life example to go along with an introduction. The teacher will start with the United Streaming video that describes adding and subtracting. After the video, the teacher will hand out the addition and subtracting activity sheets. They will go over the activity sheets as a class. Next, they will use the number chart. The teacher will pick four numbers. Then she will tell the student to shade the number that she picks. She will then ask the students:
Shade in number 35 – What number is ONE MORE than the shaded number?
Shade in number 83 – What number is ONE LESS than the shaded number?
Shade in number 7 – What number is TEN MORE than the shaded number?
Shade in number 67 - What number is TEN LESS than the shaded number?
The teacher will then ask the students to pick three numbers of their choice. Then they will have to write one less than, one more than, ten more than, and ten less than each number. The teacher will walk around and assist the students. Students will fill in answers on the 100 Number Chart activity sheet.


Closing:
For closing, the teacher will review addition and subtraction and will also review the 100 Number Chart activity sheet.

Evaluation:
The teacher will give the students a test to evaluate what they have learned at the end of the unit.
